Lungs hurt from smokin,?

I smoked lights until it hurt( 10 years, 1.5 packs a day ) then went to ultra lights until eventually it hurt as well. ( feels like cold air rush into lungs and just irritated ) and when I ly down at night and take a large deep breathe I have a gurgling feeling in the chest area but only when I am lying down. slight itching feeling as well. This has been on for a year. I went to urgent care 1 year ago , x-rays were neg, follow up with family doc, x-ray nothing 5 months ago, they also did lung function test which they said I was young with lots of capacity(34) I have now quit for 2 weeks and the same issues are going on and now I get like an worn out feeling and its either a burning feeling or the sensation i have smoked alot, coughing like my throat itches along with other symptoms of before. Anyone got any ideas for peice of mind? I have a follow up in Sept... But
