Is cashier check or money order be taxable?

I'm going to tutor some students as a part time thing. The parent of one of the students said that his company will make the payments on my name for tutoring his kid and the payment will be made in the form of money order or cashier check. They did not take my SSN. My question is: if i take the payment by money order or cashier check. Will i need to pay tax on it ?
