Where was WALKER, TEXAS RANGER filmed.?

I know it was a popular series from 1993 to 2001 and was supposed to be in or around Dallas, Texas. But, being a Texan myself, I have been to Dallas & Fort Worth many times and have not recognized any of the scenery seen in the series which I have just recently started watching on the Hallmark channel. Was it filmed on a Hollywood lot?
