How do I make a crucible furnace?

This could be VERY DANGEROUS!! Before you start this project you might want to consider your legal and safety risks. For you to melt aluminum you need a setup that will allow constant and accurate monitoring of the temperature inside the furnace and a means to shut off the fuel source in an emergency, (including if the aluminum ignites). In the event that the aluminum caught fire you will need access to a Purple-K extinguisher system, this is the only way to extinguish ignited metals like aluminum and magnesium. Aluminum dust could cause an explosion, your setup should be able to withstand this unlikely event. Besides this you need to verify that your setup complies with federal and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the toxic emissions permitted for the type of device. You will also need proper respiratory/body protective equipment.
